Should you feel the need to sanitise your hands while in the market, many stallholders will have sanitiser available. The Bathrooms are supplied with sufficient quantities of soap and dryers.
As always, restrict your greetings to an elbow bump or a smile, conduct conversation or business from sufficient distance to restrict virus transmission, carry wipes and sanitiser with you and please enjoy your visit!

Nearly four years ago I decided to make soap. I ordered a book on-line and watched a Soap Queen video and then made soap.
I still remember the excitement of my first creamy, rose-scented batch. It was a miracle and I was hooked. Over the next few years I honed my craft becoming more creative as well as conducting extensive research into the qualities I wanted incorporated in my soaps.
Our products cover a wide range of different sorts of soaps and bath treats.
Our cornerstone consists of our silk soaps, which are made with the most luxurious ingredients including olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter and cocoa butter with real silk dissolved into the soap mixture. We do not use palm oil in any products. We use the cold-process method of soap making which requires six weeks to fully cure and which gives the most exciting possibilities with the look of our bars.
We also have a lovely range of goat’s milk soaps and rustic scrubs.
As soap making is an addiction and there is always a need to try something new we always have new products on offer every week.
A relative newcomer to our range is the bath tab. Similar to bath bombs but in a tablet shape. These are made from ingredients including Epsom salts and sweet almond oil for a moisturising and relaxing soak.
The Renaissance Soaps stall is to be found inside the settler’s hall at the Silverdale Village market every Saturday morning as well as Coatesville Market on the first Sunday of every month.
Come and see us and have a chat. There’s nothing I like more than talking about soap! Our range is sure to have something to appeal or there is always the option of your very own custom batch.
We love to do party favours such as for baby showers and weddings.

Fundraising for Equity Brilliant School for AIDS orphans in Kenya, is the motivation behind the creation of unique glass-fused pendants, made right here in Orewa and photographic greeting cards that you can find, at Silverdale Village Market.
Based on a 25 year long friendship between a Kenyan teacher and her New Zealand friend.
The School educates and feeds 100 orphans and children too poor to go to a state school and is totally dependent upon donations from New Zealand.
The teacher works without pay and there are no administration costs as all time and skills are donated.
Money donated gets there reliably, is accounted for and used wisely.

Judy Lawn has been writing for thirty years. Her ideas for her short stories, picture books and novels come from her love of animals and nature, and a childhood spent exploring the countryside and beaches of New Zealand’s North Island.
A keen fisher, Judy’s first published short story was a fishing yarn, Sam’s Kingie.
Other short stories have been published in various magazines, including New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Australian/New Zealand Woman’s Day and Takahe Magazine. Two children’s stories were produced on National Radio.
Her adult novels are: Daisies Never Die and Watch Over Me, the first two stories in the Rose Rountree Mystery Series, and Progressions, which won the 2005 EPIC Award for Best Single Title/Mainstream.
Her first children’s picture book was The Shrimp Who Wanted to be Pink, Reed Publishing (NZ) Ltd 2003. Sebastian’s Tail, Penguin Group (NZ) was published in 2008. Two non-fiction books on creative writing have also been published.
Judy lives on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula where the many beautiful beaches and parklands provide inspiration for her stories.
A long-held dream of starting her own publishing company came to fruition in 2011, with the launch of Jupiter Publishing NZ Ltd. The company ran until July, 2015. Five books were published, including two children’s picture books, Jossie’s New Home and Jamie’s Monsters.
